Hi there! I'm Brianna Dawkins, but most people know me by my online persona, LPAki - as well as Artistic_LPAki.

An Atlanta born artist, I began illustrating at a young age of 7 when I was inspired by Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away. The fluidity of the animation and beautiful character designs inspired me to pick up and pencil and start drawing.

 

I went from following Mark Crilley art tutorials and scribbling on the walls of my family home, to illustrating the Blake Shelton endorsed children's books, The Merdragon and The Merdragon: Secrets.

As a kid, I was always taught "learn the rules before you break them" when it comes to art. I would spend hours reading online articles and watching art tutorials that showcased the don'ts of art, trying to perfect my art. But after I met my art professor, Alan Xie, I learned to become loose with my art and fun, not strict and stiff. From there on out, my art took a life of its own and became the now cartoonish style I love.
